IUPD responds to reported robbery

A male non-student awoke on a sidewalk somewhere in the area of 2nd and Jordan Avenue between 1:30 and 7 a.m. on Saturday, according to IU Notify.

The IU Police Department issued a crime alert today around 3 p.m. after responding to the reported robbery of the victim, whose phone and wallet was missing and who had blunt force injuries mostly to the head and face.

When the victim awoke, he walked to a nearby convenience store for assistance.

According to IU Notify, the victim believes he was knocked unconscious during a robbery and was unable to provide police with details.

The IUPD recommends people who are traveling on foot to stay aware of their
surroundings and to avoid walking alone.
