Former IU women’s basketball player Aulani Sinclair led IU in scoring during her final collegiate season. Now she’s leading the Team USA Collegiate All-Stars in China.

Sinclair was named MVP of the All-Tournament Team for the three-game PingXiang portion of the team’s 11-game stint overseas.

The team went 3-0 in the PingXiang portion, defeating Australia, Hungary and host China.

Sinclair averaged 12.3 points and three rebounds during the three games.

She led the team in scoring against Hungary and a one-point victory against China.

Trailing by 15 in the second quarter against Hungary, Sinclair hit four 3-pointers in the second half and totaled 22 points and seven rebounds to lead the comeback charge for Team USA. She finished the game with six 3-pointers.

Sinclair graduated from IU in May, leaving as the team’s all-time leader in 3-point field goal percentage. She also set a new IU record for most 3-point field goals made in one season, netting 72.

She also became the 23rd player to score over 1,000 points while at IU, ending her career with 1,142 points, good for 18th all-time.

After the season, she won the State Farm 3-point shootout as the first IU women’s basketball player to ever compete in the event.

In Team USA’s 68-67 defeat of China, Sinclair again led the team with 11 points, including a 3-point shot that gave Team USA a 51-41 advantage.

China entered the game at 2-0, and the win gave Team USA the PingXiang title.

In her most recent game, Sinclair scored 10 points Saturday as the team defeated Hungary for the second time, 71-55.

The team has seven games left during its tour in China, including playing the China U19 National Team. The team returns to the U.S. July 1.

“This tour is a wonderful opportunity for Aulani,” IU Coach Curt Miller said in a press release. “She had a great senior year and earned the right to be included on this outstanding team that will tour China. There is no doubt that this experience will continue to open doors for Aulani’s professional playing career.”
