Female student reports sexual assault

A female IU student reported a several-month-old sexual assault to the IU police last week.

The student told the IU Police Department on Wednesday at about 9:30 p.m. that she was raped by an acquaintance in October 2012, IUPD Chief Keith Cash said.

According to police records and Cash, the reported rape occurred at a fraternity on the 1200 block of North Jordan Avenue.

The student does not want IUPD to proceed with an investigation into the allegations, Cash said in an email.
