"I love my community, share its values, and I want it to be a place where its citizens can prosper.  I consider myself a taxpayer first.  Every dollar that the government does not spend is another dollar in your pocket to spend as you see fit.  With over 30 years experience in the private sector and 20 years of that as a businesswoman, I understand what it takes as a small business owner, a driving force of our economy.

Now that I also have 6 years experience as an elected official, I  have a great appreciation of the challenges that government faces while trying to serve the public with limited resources.  While in office, I constantly looked for those "common sense" ways to streamline operations and offer more for less.  I've witnessed the bureaucracy that both the public and private sector deal with, and realize the need to reduce that unnecessary burden.  I've also had success in the legislative arena, working with Republicans and Democrats alike to pass legislation that would benefit the people of Indiana.  I'm open to ideas and discussion from all angles.  Balancing our budget is a key goal.  And providing quality education for our children goes hand in hand with our economic vitality.  I would consider it a great honor and great responsibility to represent the people of Morgan and Monroe counties."
