Now that I also have 6 years experience as an elected official, I have a great appreciation of the challenges that government faces while trying to serve the public with limited resources. While in office, I constantly looked for those "common sense" ways to streamline operations and offer more for less. I've witnessed the bureaucracy that both the public and private sector deal with, and realize the need to reduce that unnecessary burden. I've also had success in the legislative arena, working with Republicans and Democrats alike to pass legislation that would benefit the people of Indiana. I'm open to ideas and discussion from all angles. Balancing our budget is a key goal. And providing quality education for our children goes hand in hand with our economic vitality. I would consider it a great honor and great responsibility to represent the people of Morgan and Monroe counties."
