Two men were arrested Monday morning in connection to a series of thefts from vehicles in Bloomington and Ellettsville, Ind.
Xavier Butler, 22, and Steven Thomas, 20, were pulled over in a silver Chevy full-size van in front of the McDonald’s restaurant near North Walnut Street and the bypass after Bloomington police were tipped that two Ellettsville men may be in the area, Bloomington Police Department Lt. Bill Parker said.
Butler was booked into the Monroe County Jail at 8:05 a.m. Monday and Thomas at 8:33 a.m.
Both men are currently being held for $4,000 surety or $5,000 cash bond. Thomas also has a probation hold, according to the jail.
Butler and Thomas admitted to authorities their connection in the multitude of thefts from vehicles in the Ellettsville and Bloomington areas.
Their truck contained a bulk of undisclosed stolen items, Parker said.
