Female juvenile reports rape at Bloomington apartment

A 15-year-old female reported to the Bloomington Police Department that she had been raped Friday at an friend’s east-Bloomington apartment.

That night, a group of friends went to one of the teens’ apartments after the Bloomington High School North football game where they were all drinking alcohol, Detective Sgt. John Kovach said.

On Saturday, the victim told investigators she had consumed alcohol to the point where she blacked out, Kovach said.

The case remains active and is being pursued by Bloomington police.

The girl recalled somebody being on top of her and heard a male’s voice, Kovach said.
After the incident was reported to police, the girl underwent a sexual assault kit at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
