Student robbed walking from class

A 20-year-old female reported being robbed at about 4:44 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of South Henderson Street and East Atwater Avenue.

The woman told police she was walking back to her apartment, located on the 300 block of East University Street, when two males approached her and asked for the time, Bloomington Police Detective Sgt. John Kovach said.

When the victim took her phone out to check the time, one of the suspects reportedly grabbed the phone and ran northwest from the intersection.

She described one male as black and wearing a red IU T-shirt. The second suspect was described as a white male with small build, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, Kovach said.

The case is still under investigation.
