IUSA election 2012 kicks off

Tuesday marked the first day of IU Student Association elections. Movement for IUSA set up at three polling locations around campus to educate students about IUSA and encourage them to vote despite the absence of other competing tickets.

Junior candidate for president Kyle Straub said he is telling students who seem confused about the purpose of voting that it serves as a way for IUSA to determine campus support for the organization.

Rather than focusing on increasing the number of student voters at the polling stations, Movement for IUSA volunteers passed out flyers explaining the ticket’s platform. Voting continues today until 10 p.m.
