The man who allegedly shot and killed a Pizza X driver in November is set to appear in
court Oct. 1.
James D. Finney, 21, is charged with murder and being a felon in possession of a gun. He was arrested in November for killing Adam Sarnecki outside the Pizza X location on South Walnut Street.
Police said Sarnecki was shot after he confronted someone who was trying to break into another employee’s vehicle near the Pizza X store.
Sarnecki provided police a description of the suspect before losing consciousness.
Finney was also accused of shooting a 60-year-old woman in the leg on West Ninth Street and breaking into a convenience store on South Leonard Springs Road in the days before Sarnecki was killed Nov. 4.
Police arrested Finney after receiving a tip and identifying him on security footage from the convenience store.
Police said Finney shot Sarnecki because he did not want to get in trouble.
