Minor allegedly assaults hospital social worker

A 17-year-old female  allegedly punched a Bloomington Hospital social worker, breaking her nose, just before 6 p.m. Sunday.

The minor was being treated for a drug overdose at the hospital, said Lt. William Parker of the Bloomington Police Department.

“She tried to unhook herself and leave,” Parker said.

When the 63-year-old social worker and others tried to stop the minor from leaving, she punched the social worker in the face, Parker said.

The minor is being referred for aggravated battery.
