IU will officially bid goodbye to Provost and Executive Vice President Karen Hanson with a scheduled program and reception to take place Jan. 12 at the IU Auditorium.

Before becoming provost and vice president, Hanson served as the dean of the Hutton Honors College, and chair and professor of the Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences. Hanson announced in the fall she would become senior vice president for academic affairs and provost of the University of Minnesota, starting Feb 1.
