A man was arrested Saturday on a preliminary charge of child molestation, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jeff Canada said Monday.
Tommy J. Grubbs, 42, was arrested after an investigation led police to naming him as a suspect in the molestation of a 5-year-old girl.
On Thursday, BPD was notified by the Department of Child Services that the 5-year-old had disclosed she had been molested, Canada said. After a forensic interview at Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Center, detectives obtained search warrants for a south side apartment complex.
Grubbs was located by officers early Saturday and taken into custody. Police interviewed Grubbs, and he was booked into Monroe County Jail.
