The Big Ten Conference named Josh MacTaggart the conference’s Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for Oct. 17 to 23.

The IU junior had a solid run during his weekend in Knoxville, Tenn., reaching the semifinals in both singles and doubles.

MacTaggart, a native of Cheshire in the United Kingdom, played up to his No. 55 ITA Preseason Ranking, winning five of six singles matches.

MacTaggart’s fast start to the fall season comes on the heels of All-Big Ten honors earned last year.

He and the rest of the IU men’s tennis squad travel to Iowa City, Iowa, this weekend for the Big Ten Singles Championship.

Two years ago, MacTaggart won the tournament as a freshman, and last year he advanced to the semifinals. He will look to repeat this past success.
