Man robbed at knifepoint near Monroe County Public Library

Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a Bloomington man at knifepoint early Sunday.

At about 3 a.m., the 26-year-old victim was walking in front of the Monroe County Public Library on Kirkwood Avenue when a man with a knife approached him, Sgt. Jeff Canada of the Bloomington Police Department said.

The suspect  showed the victim the knife and demanded his money, before stealing $40 in cash and fleeing westbound on Kirkwood Avenue, Canada said.

The man was described as a white male in his twenties,  wearing a red flannel shirt and blue jeans. He was wearing black and white shoes. His hair was brown and with blond highlights.
