Reading Rainbow, Sleeping Bag perform at The Bishop

Sleeping Bag & Reading Rainbow

Recently The Bishop welcomed Reading Rainbow and Sleeping Bag to its stage as part of its continued concerts during the summer in Bloomington.

The opener, Sleeping Bag, is a Bloomington-based trio helmed by Dave Segedy that he formed during downtime from his other two music projects, The Native Young and Prayer Breakfast.

While Segedy plays all the instruments on his demos, he is accompanied for practices and live shows by his friends David Woodruff and Lewis Rogers on guitar and bass. The group is a power-pop band that specializes in 90s styles based heavily on bands like Weezer and Built to Spill.

Reading Rainbow came later. This two-piece pop outfit from Philadelphia has been touring the country and played SXSW again this year.

The duo of Sarah Everton and Rob Garcia has an accessible and friendly DIY sound that is helping them be considered some up-and-comers in the indie pop scene.
