Bloomington Sustainability commission opens application process for vacancy

Students interested in sustainability beyond campus can now apply for a position on the Bloomington Commission on Sustainability.

WHAT
The Commission on Sustainability promotes economic development, environmental health and social equity in the community.

The commission gathers and disseminates information; promotes practical initiatives; and measures, monitors and reports on the community’s progress toward sustainability.

The committee also advises the Common Council and the City Administration on issues affecting Bloomington.

WHEN
While applications are always welcome, priority will be given to those received before May 6.

DUTIES
Members are required to attend monthly meetings and join a subcommittee such as the Education Committee or the Sustainability Trends Assessment Report Committee. Members should expect to spend four to six hours monthly on commission duties.

Applicants must fill out a short online application and upload a résumé at www.bloomington.in.gov/apply.
