The IU women’s basketball team opened its three-game road trip Sunday with a loss.
The Hoosiers (5-5) squandered a 13-point first-half lead in a 56-52 defeat at the hands of Toledo (6-4) in Toledo, Ohio.
Neither team shot particularly well from the field. The Rockets finished at 39 percent shooting, and IU recorded a 38 percent average.
The Hoosiers earned a 37-29 rebounding advantage, but 29 turnovers limited IU’s opportunities to put the game away. Toledo outscored the Hoosiers 38-21 in the second half to hand IU its second loss in three days.
