Men’s soccer earns spot in NCAA Tournament

For the 24th straight season, the IU men’s soccer team was selected for the NCAA Tournament. The Hoosiers are seeded No. 14.

IU (9-7-2, 4-1-1) will play at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Bill Armstrong Stadium against the winner of a Thursday match between Bradley and Tulsa.

“Getting the bye is very important,” IU coach Todd Yeagley said in a statement. “It gives us time to rest and more time to prepare for our opponent. Tulsa and Bradley are two very good teams, and you know this time of year you are going to be playing good teams no matter what round we are in. We will prepare for both and get ready for a tough one on Sunday.”

This past Friday, IU lost 2-1 to Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament semifinal.

The 2010 tournament is the Hoosiers’ 35th NCAA Tournament in program history.
