There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for a new hospice house in Bloomington at 1 p.m. Nov. 5.
The new center will be at Cota Drive, just east of Bloomington Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Center, 2620 Cota Dr.
The hospice will have a residential feel to it, providing 24 hour nursing care to its patients.
“The Hospice House, a project of the Bloomington Hospital Foundation, will help fill a gap in our community for acute hospice patients and their families,” said Amanda Roach, media relations director for Bloomington Hospital, in the release.
The hospice house is scheduled to open during late 2011 to early 2012.
“Large patient rooms will be able to accommodate family members and loved ones wishing to spend the night, while an entire hospice team, including a social worker and chaplain, will be on-site to care for patients and loved ones,” according to the release.
