Assault suspect surrenders to IUPD

Aldwin Shade, the second suspect in the Oct. 31 robbery and assault of a group of Asian students, turned himself in to the IU Police Department Monday, according to an IUPD news release from Chief of Police Keith Cash.

Shade, 19, is a non-student from Jeffersonville, Ind., and is being charged with a Class A felony robbery and a Class B felony assault, according to the release.

On Oct. 31, a group of African-Americans allegedly used racial slurs and attacked and robbed a group of Asian students.

IUPD executed a search warrant at 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the residence of suspect Terry Lee Campbell Jr., 18, according to an IU Police Department press release.

Campbell was not at his residence. At 9:58 p.m. officers received a tip that Campbell was at Read Center and arrested him for the initial charges of robbery and battery with serious bodily injury.

“Everyone in this case has been identified, and this is the final suspect to be charged criminally,” Cash said in the release.
