Students living in residence halls and campus apartments can currently watch 43 channels on a closed-circuit cable system.
But now they can help change that.
This month, the Residence Hall Association launched an IU TV Channel Survey on its website, which asks if students want the TV channels to be changed.
The survey specified seven channels for students to rank — E!, Food Network, Bravo, ABC Family, Travel Channel, Lifetime and Nickelodeon.
The survey also asks students to rank seven channels they would willingly give up — WGN, CSPAN2, CNN2, WHMB Indianapolis, MTVU, WNDY Indianapolis and Cartoon Network.
Sasha Bannister, the RHA’s vice president of student affairs, said the RHA has been working with the Residential Programs and Services and IU Student Association to make the change.
Bannister said if the surveys are successful, new channels could be implemented next
semester.
“There is a lot more to know, including the possible channels we are considering adding and taking away,” Bannister said in an e-mail.
