IU defeats Northwestern 3-2, clinches Big Ten regular season title

Join the discussion as the Hoosiers attempt to clinch the Big Ten regular season title against the Wildcats at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

IU goal update

Senior Daniel Kelly fed the ball to senior Andy Adlard, who, with the ball at his feet, did a one-touch pass back to Kelly, who did a quick pass to sophomore Joe Tolen who shot it in for the score.

Halftime update

IU junior Nate Mitchell earned his second start in goal in his career, but he was unable to hold off the Wildcats in the first half.

Northwestern scored with under five minutes remaining in the first to make it 1-0.

IU junior Will Bruin saw the sideline for the end of the second half with a pain in his shoulder, an injury he received during Butler's 4-1 romping of the Hoosiers on Wednesday.

Northwestern didn't mess around to start the second half either. After IU began the half with the ball at center, Bruin turned the ball over to the Wildcats. They took the ball down field and scored.

Northwestern leads No. 25 Indiana 2-0.
