The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will have extended hours at its full-service locations Monday and Tuesday to allow voters to receive photo identification necessary to go to the polls Tuesday.
Although it is normally closed Mondays, the BMV full-service locations will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 1. On Election Day, locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Monday and Tuesday, BMV locations will only process drivers licenses and state photo ID cards for both voters and non voters.
“We’re not going to do vehicle registration, titles and you can’t take a license test,” Graig Lubsen, BMV deputy communications director, said.
The BMV has extended hours because of a state law that requires it to do so for every primary and general election.
The BMV locations in Monroe County are located at 1612 S. Liberty Dr., Suite A, Bloomington and 4629 West Richland Plaza, Ellettsville.
