As it celebrates the 35-year anniversary of the official founding of the corporation that eventually became WFHB, Bloomington’s first community radio station will begin its Fall Fund Drive on Friday, hoping to raise $45,000.
“Fund drives provide a large chunk of our annual funding,” General Manager Will Murphy said in a press release. “We have a pretty bare bones budget, but without listener support, we wouldn’t be able to stay on the air.”
During the drive, the station will feature local and regional artists performing live in the WFHB studios.
“In addition to its usual in-studio and online fund drive efforts, WFHB will also participate in a number of events around the community as part of the 2010 fall drive,” according to the release.
The station plans to broadcast live from the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market this Saturday and next Saturday, Oct. 2. Pledge forms will be made available at the market booth.
WFHB will be present at the grand opening of Twisted Limb Paperworks this Saturday, offering special fund drive premiums.
