Volunteers from the Kelley School of Business, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, Habitat for Humanity International and Whirlpool Corporation began building a home at 9 a.m.today in the Memorial Stadium the parking lot.
The home will take 10 days to complete, according to a press release, and is the first time a Habitat build will take place on campus.
Bloomington resident Trish Vosekas will receive keys to the house at the IU football game Oct. 2. Her home will be relocated to its permanent location at 908 N. Woodburn Ave.the following day.
Vosekas, who usually moves once a year, recently left a house that did not have a furnace or reliable running water.
More than 300 IU students are expected to volunteer from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day until the project is complete.
