Donations exceed goals for United Way Campaign

IU employees have raised more than $765,000 for the 2009-10 United Way Campaign, topping their goal of $710,000 by 7 percent.

They also exceeded last year’s goal by raising more than $690,000.

All funds will be donated toward programs for the United Way of Monroe County.

“All segments of the community come together through United Way,” said Barry Lessow, executive director of United Way of Monroe County, in an IU press release.
“IU employees continue to be generous, and the benefit of their involvement is felt throughout the entire year by the community.”

IU has been involved with the campaign since the 1950s.

$765,000 raised for 2009-10 United Way Campaign

$698,841 raised for 2008-09 United Way Campaign

364 number of new donors

77 number of IU departments that exceeded their goal

88 percent of IU teams that surpassed their goal
