IU Police respond to call at Foster

The IU Police Department responded to an altercation between a female resident of Foster Quad and her ex-boyfriend at 4:28 a.m. Sunday, IUPD Lt. Craig Monroe said.

According to the police report, the ex-boyfriend was involved in a fight at the Varsity Villas. Out of anger, his ex-girlfriend left the location to return to her residence.

The ex-boyfriend eventually showed up at Foster where a verbal argument ensued. According to the report, the woman said he “pushed her down, threw things and left the residence hall after punching a hole in the wall.”

When officers arrived, blood was spotted on the walls in the hallway and in the female’s room.

“The blood was from injuries on the hands of the male suspect which he received from the previous altercation at the Varsity Villas,” Munroe said.

Officers were able to locate the individual at the Villas. “Injuries were noticed on the male subject’s hands,” according to the report.

He provided the same information to officers as did his ex-girlfriend. However, he denied pushing the complainant in her residence at Foster.

He smelled of alcohol but is not facing any preliminary charges. The report stated he is an “advised trespass at Foster.”
