MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – One of Indiana’s oldest environmental groups has
a new name following a recent merger with its conservation land trust.
The Save the Dunes Council and the Save the Dunes Conservation Fund merged into a nonprofit entity known as Save the Dunes.
The Save the Dunes Council helped successfully lobby for the 1966
creation of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore along Lake Michigan.
Save the Dunes Conservation Fund has conserved more than 500 acres of
diverse habitat.
