IUSA meeting to kick-off year

The IU Student Association will begin their year tonight with a kick-off meeting.

IUSA president Peter SerVaas said the meeting is more for returning members and will reintroduce the top IUSA members and overview the different departments. The meeting will be at 8 p.m. tonight in the Kelley School of Business, room 219.

“I have been involved with IUSA for a few years, so I know how hard it is to understand the whole scope of it,” he said.

SerVaas said Dean of Students Pete Goldsmith will also be in attendance, and he said it will be great for IUSA members to meet the new dean.

After the main presentation, members will break into different departments to discuss specific goals for the year, SerVaas said.

Although the meeting is aimed toward returning members, SerVaas said anyone interested is welcome.

Since the meeting will explain what IUSA is and what each department does, it can be a great opportunity for people thinking of joining, he said.
