A Bloomington man was arrested July 5 for punching, pushing and strangling his wife.
Charles J. Vincent, 28, faces preliminary charges for confinement, strangulation and domestic battery.
Vincent came home intoxicated at about 10:40 a.m. After his wife asked about the spare tire on their vehicle, he punched her in the head, according to police reports.
When she moved toward the telephone to call the police, he pushed her down and strangled her in front of her 2-year-old twins, according to Bloomington Police Department reports.
BPD reports state she tried to scream, but soon blacked out. Vincent finally stopped because the children were screaming.
When Bloomington police arrived, an indentation from the woman’s necklace was left on her neck from Vincent’s hand pressure during the strangulation, the reports stated.
