SALEM, Ind. – A southern Indiana woman has been charged with stealing about $5,000 from the treasury of a high school basketball booster organization.
State Police say 44-year-old Connie S. Holstine of Vallonia, Ind., was arrested Friday on a charge of theft and released on bond from the Washington County Jail.
Police said Holstine took the money for her personal use between July 2008 and April 2009 while she was treasurer of the Salem Hoopsters, the booster organization at Salem High School, about 25 miles northwest of Louisville, Ky.
Holstine refused to comment when reached by telephone at her home Friday night.
