National Peptide Society hosts National Peptide Symposium in Bloomington this week

The National Peptide Symposium began Sunday gathering students, professors, scientists and industry leaders from around the world to exchange cutting edge research in biotechnology developments.

The week-long event will have pharmaceutical CEOs and scientists presenting current research developments in the fields of biotechnology as well as virus, diabetes and obesity pharmacology developments.

American Peptide Society will sponsor a job fair during this week’s conference for new scientists and current students, including IU students, to attend. American Peptide Society also provides travel grants to graduate and postdoctoral fellows.

University of Florida professor and President-elect for the National Peptide Society, Ben Dunn, said the research presented this week will be a direct benefit to the health of college students and the young population.
“Students are facing problems like diabetes and obesity in their generation, this conference will be a medium for scientists to exchange their research and contribute ideas to develop more pharmaceuticals for these problems,” Dunn said.
