Retired psychology professor dies Wed.

Retired psychology professor Dorothy Saltzman died in her sleep Wednesday at a nursing home in Evansville, according to Alexander Funeral Homes.

Memorial services are planned for Nov. 28 in Bloomington, and contributions can be made in her name to a special fund at the IU Foundation, according to the funeral home.

The New York City native moved to Bloomington with her husband in 1948. Aside from teaching in the psychology department, she was also an active member of the community. She served on the Bloomington Hospital board of directors, worked as a psychologist and counselor for the Monroe County Community School Corporation and was active in the League of Women Voters, according to the funeral home.
