Drivers should be aware of traffic and closed roads on Friday during the IU Homecoming Parade. The IU Police Department will have officers stationed throughout campus at about 3:30 p.m. at major intersections to alleviate traffic congestion.
At about 3:45 p.m., parade vehicles will begin staging on Rose Avenue between Third and Seventh Streets and west on Seventh Street from Rose Avenue. Limited access will be allowed on Seventh Street between Jordan Avenue and Union Street.
The parade will begin at about 5:30 p.m. Traffic entering Jordan Avenue north of Third Street, will be diverted north. On Seventh Street, no eastbound traffic will be allowed from Jordan Avenue and no westbound traffic will be allowed from Union Street. On Third Street, no westbound traffic will be allowed from High Street. Traffic from Union onto Third Street will be diverted eastbound. On Indiana Avenue, all northbound traffic will be turned west at Third Street and Indiana Avenue.
The parade will end at about 6:30 p.m. at the Sample Gates.
