As part of the Summer Music Festival, Jacobs School of Music faculty member and pianist Evelyne Brancart will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday in Auer Hall.
“(The Summer Music Festival) is diversifying IU music,” Jacobs School of Music Director of Marketing and Publicity Alain Barker said. “The festival is growing every year.”
Brancart said her performance is a recital made up of solo pieces on the piano which include Chopin’s “Etudes 1, 2, 3 and 4 from Op. 10,” “Variations on a Theme by Paganini from Op. 35” by Brahms, as well as several pieces from Beethoven and Liszt.
“It is a nice program for me to play and for people to listen to,” Brancart said.
The recital is free and open to the public.
IU Sophomore Kathleen Vernon said she would seriously consider attending Brancart’s recital on Sunday. “I love music,” Vernon said. “I think it is inspirational.”
