Thanks to a recent $930,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health, IU's Light Microscopy Imaging Center will be able to purchase new equipment, according to an IU news release.
A high-tech imaging device will be purchased with the grant, which will provide researchers the opportunity to take photographs of as many as 384 specimens on one plate, according to the news release. Researchers in fields such as medicine, biology and psychology will use the new device, said Light Microscopy Imaging Center Executive Director Claire Walczak in the news release.
The imaging center, which opened a few weeks ago in Myers Hall, is one of 20 programs that received the National Institutes of Health High-End Instrumentation Grant. The center itself works to provide seven imaging systems in a single facility to be used by scientists, researchers and students, according to the news release.
