With final exams almost over, many students are preparing for a final goodbye to their undergraduate years at IU. \nSenior Meg Palm said she will be attending the ceremonies this weekend along with family and friends.\n“I have 15 family and friends coming in town,” she said. “I am going to the Individualized Major Program and the larger College of Arts and Sciences graduation. Then, I’m having a cookout with my family and friends.”\nAs for her postgraduation plans, Palm has much to look forward to. She said she will spend a month in Europe with the IU Alumni Association Hoosier Travelers, and then will finish up her job as manager of the Hoosier Den. Palm directs and coordinates events at the Den, which is located in Foster Quad. She said she will train a new manager after she returns from Europe.\nSenior Amanda Thopy, a marketing major, said she is looking forward to beginning her new job shortly after graduation. \n“I have a job lined up in Indianapolis with Acosta sales and marketing that I am very excited about,” Thopy said. “I plan on living with friends. It will be nice to not be financially dependent on my parents and to be able to fully support myself.”\nThopy will not attend the ceremonies this weekend because she will graduate in June. She plans on celebrating graduation over \nthe summer.\n“I am taking summer classes and technically graduating in June,” she said. “I am taking just a two-week break before starting my new job ... I will celebrate graduation with my family and close friends \nin June.”\nSenior David Weisburd, who wrote guest business columns for the Indiana Daily Student, will also have family coming in town for graduation.\n“My grandparents are coming in town,” he said. “My family is in Italy and already came down for the honors ceremony.”\nWeisburd majored in entrepreneurship and management and is excited about beginning his new job.\n“(I will be working at) Jefferies, an investment bank in New York City,” Weisburd said. “I will be a financial analyst.”\nThis is only the beginning for Weisburd. He has many ambitions for the future as well.\n“My goal is to be a trader and hedge fund manager. I want to use the money to create change,” Weisburd said. \nGraduation ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at Assembly Hall.
