What everyone is talking about this WEEKEND

Oklahoma State Football Coach Mike Gundy:

The coach of IU's Insight Bowl opponent is apparently a complete psycho. After a disparaging column was written about one of his players, Gundy went on a tirade with this highlight: "Where are we at in society today? Come after me! I am a man! I am 40! Come after me!" WEEKEND hopes IU plants OSU and its pathetic coach four feet under the Tempe desert.

Free VHS or Beta show:

Indie-electronic rockers VHS or Beta will play Dec. 13 at the Bluebird. No tickets are being sold for the show; instead, the band wants concertgoers to bring an unwrapped gift to the show to benefit Toys for Tots. Autovaughn and American Bang are also on the bill.

Finals Week:

Hopefully you are done with those pesky finals and you can begin your trek back to wherever you came from to spend time with your family. The holidays can bring out the best and sometimes the worst in your family. WEEKEND recommends hitting the holiday egg nog regularly throughout the holidays.

Movies to check out during break:

Want to see a prestige flick? "There Will be Blood" and "Charlie Wilson's War." Comedy? "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story." A Johnny Depp musical? "Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." There is something for everyone this holiday break.

Festivus:

Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.\nCosmo Kramer: What happened to the doll?\nFrank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born: a Festivus for the rest of us!

WEEKEND would like wish everyone out there a very merry Festivus.
