Sage Steele will present at Journalism School

IU alumna and ESPN anchor Sage Steele will speak in Ernie Pyle Hall at the School of Journalism Friday. \nSteele, a 1995 IU graduate, will talk about her experiences and career path from IU to ESPN. \n“I think it’s great to have someone like Sage Steele because she’s had such great success in the sports journalism career and she’s reached a great level at ESPN,” said Mike Conway, assistant professor of journalism at IU. \nSteele will offer her advice and lessons learned for students interested in college and professional sports journalism. \nSteele started her career as a producer and reporter for CBS affiliate WSTB-TV in South Bend. She has also worked covering the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR for the CBS affilliate station in Indinapolis. She is currently an anchor for “Mike and Mike in the Morning” and “ESPN First Take,” both of which air on ESPN2. \nThe discussion, which will be from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., is free and open to the public. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the presentation.\n“This will be good for students to hear; especially when it is someone who has sat in the same classrooms they are (in) now,” Conway said.
