Kirkwood Ave.\nMore Information: Over three full length albums, an EP, and five different live bands in four years, David Longstreth has created in Dirty Projectors a body of music that’s original and beautiful. The breadth of his talents as a songwriter, arranger, bandleader and singer call to mind Prince, Joni Mitchell and Bjork. Tickets are $5 for IUB students, $10 for the general public.

Wolin will lead an informal panel discussion with Vietnam War veterans John Linnemeier, Claude Cookman, and Bud Lynch about their wartime experiences, their lives after the war and the process of revisiting these memories while being interviewed and photographed by Wolin for the series “Inconvenient Stories”.

Miss Witherspoon\nWhen: 8 p.m., Friday\nWhere: John Waldron Arts Center, 122 S. Walnut St. \nMore Information: A wild new comedy by award-winning playwright Christopher Durang and directed by Bruce Burgun. Part fable, part farce and part stand-up comedy, Miss Witherspoon tells a story about the afterlife and puts an intriguingly hopeful spin on the modern world. Tickets are $15. Additional show dates are 8 p.m. Sept. 8, 14, 15 and 2 p.m. Sept. 9.

Club SoFA: 20th Birthday Benefit for the SoFA Gallery\nWhen: 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday\nWhere: 110 Fine Arts building, 1201 E. Seventh St.\nMore Information: The SoFA Gallery is celebrating its 20th birthday with live local music, party and yard games, Wii tournaments, sports on TV and dancing. Admission is $10 at the door.
