"What else could I possibly do to make noise? / I done touched on everything but little boys.”\nAs I sat back last week to reflect on six years at IU, these words suddenly popped in my head.\nThough the militant feminists on campus may view Eminem as some sort of anti-Christ, after having spent such a long time here I view the above words as prophetic.\nRather than comment on the most pressing issue of the day as I usually do, I have decided to use my last major column to offer words of wisdom and advice to my fellow campus conservatives.\nFirst off, stand up to the liberals that have infected this campus.\nWhen I first became a columnist, I got called all sorts of names. Some of the more PG include racist, misogynist, and sexist along with some more profane idioms I am not allowed to repeat here.\nThe reason for this is simple: fear. The radical left knew I was correct about the major issues and rather than argue with me they tried to tear me down.\nSecond, never apologize for your views.\nOne of the columns I am most proud of is one I wrote about two years ago in which I called the American Civil Liberties Union a domestic terror organization. I was inspired to write it when I heard the ACLU’s Chicago office filed a suit in federal court that ended in the Department of Defense being forced to bar the Boy Scouts from military bases. That was bad enough, but the ACLU’s hatred of the Boy Scouts seemed to be superseded only by its alliance with the North American Man/Boy Love Association. Once I became aware of this connection, I had no problem comparing the ACLU to the Ku Klux Klan and the Aryan Nation.\nI have never apologized nor will I ever.\nThird, engage your enemies.\nAs antithetical to the above points as this might seem, engaging one’s political adversaries allows a view into your opponent’s mind and can help sharpen your own arguments.\nSurprisingly enough, I have been invited to participate in a number of events where I seemed to be the “token conservative.”\nThe most memorable of these was a face to face interview with the Rev. Al Sharpton. I have also been a panelist in discussions about the Iraq war and IU’s contract with Coca-Cola. Much to my surprise, the Coke forum went off very well thanks to the superior planning of No Sweat!.\nSo what is the point of all of this?\nWell, I think David Horowitz put it best when he told me that if you give liberals an inch, they will take a mile.\nLiberalism is an inferior ideology. Its ideas are mostly ridiculous and its followers know it. Conservatives stand for traditional values, a strong national defense, strong border security, and limited government especially in the free market. In order to hide this, liberals resort to personal attacks on those of us who speak the truth.\nSo fellow conservatives, goodbye and good luck.
Endgame for me
