It just gets better and better.\nThat is my reaction to the latest round of executions coming out of Iraq.\nIn the latest twist, the head of Saddam's half brother, Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti, was severed during his execution. While I think we can all agree that al-Tikriti and his execution mate Awad Hamed al-Bandar were bad men and deserved to die, the debate about the humanity of this execution remains.\nI can see the human-rights protests now. Picket signs and press conferences bemoan the suffering poor al-Tikriti endured during his execution. Mentions of all the people he tortured and murdered are mysteriously absent.\nThe fact is that these were some of the most evil men in modern times. They eliminated their countrymen the way most of us eliminate a delicious steak. And they probably did it with just as much joy.\nDid they suffer? Yes.\nWas suffering a necessary part of the execution? No.\nShould we feel sorry or regretful about the way they died? Absolutely not. I will save my sorrow for their victims.\nWhile we are on the subject of Middle Eastern madmen who should get what they deserve, there is one other individual who stands out: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad. Given his recent actions and statements, it is likely only a matter of time before he joins al-Tikriti and al-Bandar in the ranks of genocidal monsters.\nThe desire of the Iranian government to seek nuclear energy has been well-documented for some time now. Their statements that they desire only so-called peaceful uses of nuclear technology fool only the most gullible. However, the desire of the world to put up with this charade may be coming to an end.\nA report in a British newspaper indicated that Israel was preparing for a conventional strike on Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities. Maybe this is accurate and maybe it is not, but one thing remains certain: Our peacenik European allies may be content to stand by while Iran amasses a nuclear arsenal, but Israel is not.\nGiven the attitudes expressed by the Holocaust-denier-in-chief, I would say Israel would be foolish for not at least preparing for such a strike. Paraphrasing Ehud Barak: What the hell do we expect them to do? Perhaps if someone had stepped up against the likes of Saddam, al-Tikriti and al-Bandar, then thousands of Iraqis would still be alive.\nI am not saying that Ahmedinejad is a murderous tyrant who deserves to be put to death for his crimes. What I am saying is that he should be taken out before he is allowed to get to that point.\nWhat is most ironic about the current situation in the Middle East is that many human-rights "activists" are tempted to bemoan the loss of al-Tikriti and al-Bandar, yet they abhor any action to prevent someone from following in their footsteps. It seems as if we are not learning from the past.\nSo, as I sarcastically stated earlier, it just gets better and better.
