All About ME:

IDS Summer editor in chief Eamonn Brennan

Eamonn Brennan, a junior studying journalism, was recently selected to become the summer editor in chief at the Indiana Daily Student.\n"I have gotten a chance to lead the sports desk these past few months and I realized that I want to take a higher leadership role at the paper."\nSo why does he feel he's ready to take on such an important position at the IDS this summer?\n"It's the general idea that I have a major role in shaping the way people can hear and learn about their world."\nOverall, Brennan is looking forward to spending time in Bloomington this summer. \n"I haven't had the chance to stay in Bloomington during a summer yet, but everything I hear about it is amazing. It's supposed to be very relaxed and calm."\nSo when he isn't in the newsroom trying to beat daily deadlines, here is what this Iowa native is in to:\nSports\nA former sports writer for the IDS, Brennan says by far the coolest thing he ever got to do was this past March when he covered the NCAA National Championship. But he is also what many would refer to as a sports fanatic. He was an athlete even before he can remember and played a lot of soccer and basketball growing up. And although he wasn't quite cut out to become a Big Ten athlete, Brennan keeps up with his "love for the game" by following some of his favorite teams and playing intramural basketball and soccer.\n"I'm defiantly a Chicago sports fan, and IU of course. But it's hard to believe that my first Cubs game was when I was a freshman in college."\nFood\nHe spends most of his feeding time eating out, specifically from the food court in the Indiana Memorial Union due to his busy and hectic work schedule.\n"If I have to get something quick, I love Chipotle and Jimmy John's."\nBut when his parents are in town, Brennan heads to Grazie! Italian Eatery located at 106 W. 6th St. for a good steak.\n"When the parents are in and they are taking me out, you just have to go and get the good stuff."\nMusic\n"My music interests, it's all over the place. But my top three would have to be Radiohead, The Beatles and Death Cab for Cutie."\nBrennan says he will listen to everything from classic rock to new obscure music or whatever he hears on the radio.\n"I usually listen to my music when I'm working at the paper, or before going to bed at night. Whenever you need to just get away from everything and take a break, I can just put my headphones on"
