She's a woman of the world. Leslie Elson, a senior double majoring in journalism and Spanish, began taking Spanish her first year at IU. But what she thought was just fulfilling her foreign language requirement eventually led to a once in a lifetime experiences she won't ever forget.\nWhen it comes to studying abroad, Elson has seen it all, or at least a lot of it. She's studied in Madrid, Spain and Cuernavaca, Mexico, which is about 50 miles directly south of Mexico City.\n"My first inspiration to study abroad was to fulfill the credit hours. But I enjoyed Mexico so much that I decided to go to Spain."\nElson says she even plans to move back to Madrid after graduation for a year to teach English.\n"The experiences were very humbling. Until I went to Mexico I had never even flown on a plane. I always thought that I would just move back to Kokomo, but the traveling made me want to do so much more than that now."\nFood\nFor a taste of the authentic Mexican cuisine Elson misses so much, she heads to El Norteno for the enchiladas verdes. \n"It's the closest to authentic Mexican food I've had in the U.S. And it's not Spanish food, it's Mexican. There is a huge difference."\nSome of Panera's gourmet sandwiches, such as the Chicken Olivada, "are like a tour through Europe. The sandwich is so good."\nAnd when her parents are in town to take her out to eat, Elson likes to dine at Upland Brewing Co. \n"There are just so many places to eat in Bloomington. I always like to try to go somewhere different."\nClothes\nSome of Elson's favorite places to shop include Urban Outfitter's on Kirkwood, Express and Fossil in Indianapolis. \nShe believes a girl can never have too many accessories, including items like jackets, bags, watches and earrings.\n"I'm defiantly an accessory girl. An outfit can be so boring, but with the right accessories you can bring in your own personal style and really make the outfit work."\nTV\nElson usually finds herself relaxing in front of the TV while she is eating dinner at the end of the day to unwind.\n"Friends" is her all-time favorite television series.\n"I'm crazy about 'Friends.' I have all the seasons. Sometimes I pre-order them, but I always make sure I have them the day it comes out."\nGrey's Anatomy is on her A-list as a new drama series, but her heart is with the MTV reality TV scene.\n"I really miss 'Laguna Beach.' I think it's the element of drama that really draws me in. I also like to watch 'The Real World/Road Rules Challenges."
