Things '2DO before I die'

Everyone dreams about what his or her life will be like in the future, especially while attending college. During college, the possibilities seem endless. We can have any major, study anything, live and work anywhere. \nAs a senior, I have recently begun to consider what dream I want to follow after graduation. During this thought process, I stumbled across a book that asks an even more prominent question: What is on your list of things to do before you die?\nNormally, I don't hold well with books that come off the self-improvement shelf, but Michael Ogden and Chris Day's book, "2DO Before I Die," inspires a lot of thought. The book itself is not a "how-to" guide, but rather a list of suggestions of things people want to do before time runs out. The title alone was enough to start me thinking about my own "to-do" list.\nSome of the ideas suggested in the book are outside of my personality (like growing a beard, for instance, which is one suggestion), or are things that I have done often (such as bowling). \nBut there are other ideas in the book that have inspired me to make a list of things I want to do before either age prevents me or death takes me. \nI would love to go skydiving. I know everyone says that, but I think having a huge fear of heights and a fear of smashing into the ground because my parachute won't open would make jumping out of a plane a great accomplishment. I would like to try hang gliding, and it would be amazing to go rock climbing in the Grand Canyon. \nI want to attempt a "walkabout" in the Australian Outback, and I think it would be the greatest learning experience of a lifetime to live in a country for about a year or so in which the primary language was not English. \nI think it would be amazing if I could see almost every country (that was safe to travel in) before I die, just to see how people are living all across the world. \nMore than anything, I want to see Ireland. I don't even think I have Irish heritage, but the country looks so aesthetically pleasing and inspiring, and there is so much history in that one small island. I would like to see New Zealand for many of the same reasons.\nAs ridiculous as this may sound, I think it would be great to go on one of those competitive reality TV shows. The Amazing Race would be the most beneficial. In Season 7, the last three teams to remain in the race went through something like 23 different countries and around 40,000 miles, all for free!\nOne of the other unique things about "2DO Before I Die" is that Ogden and Day take all the work out of making a "to-do" list. They include a section in the back of the book of lined paper, numbered from one to 100 for the readers to make their own lists as they go along. \nWhether you want to follow one of the suggestions in the book, or use the stories to inspire new ideas, making a list of fun and sometimes irrational things to do while you move through life has never been more entertaining.\nTry making your own list while waiting for the bus or while waiting for class to start (or during class to stay awake). You might be surprised at what you come \nup with.
