The IU Police Department was called to investigate anti-gay remarks written in chalk on sidewalks Thursday at Seventh Street and Woodlawn Avenue. A University employee contacted IUPD to complain of the "insensitive remarks," which made anti-gay statements against the Sigma Chi fraternity, said IUPD Lt. Jerry Minger.\nSigma Chi President Jerome Hayden said he heard from fraternity members there were derogatory remarks written about the fraternity, but he had not seen them. Hayden said no writing was done on the fraternity's property, and no complaints were filed by fraternity members. \nMinger said there were no witnesses, and IUPD currently has no suspects. Photos of the chalk writings were taken and filed by IUPD, pending future investigation.
