Lilly Library exhibit pays tribute to Emily Hahn\nBorn in Missouri, Hahn was the first female to receive an engineering degree for mining at the University of Wisconsin in the mid-1920s. The Lilly exhibit, which will be held through May 7 highlights many of her writings from across a variety of subjects and genres including short stories, biographies, histories, non-fiction on a variety of subjects, books for children and several autobiographical works.\nHahn was known and made famous for her travels, her writing, love of monkeys, love affairs, cigar smoking and addiction to opium. Hahn was a China coast correspondent for the New Yorker and wrote many stories for it.
Union Board accepting artwork for CD cover\nStudents with creativity and talent can turn in their designs for the "Live From Bloomington" CD cover contest, as the deadline is 5:30 p.m. The designs can be turned into the Union Board office located on the second floor of the Indiana Memorial Union tower. All student artwork must be original as well as in adherence to the IU Code of Student Ethics and Conduct. A hard copy of the design with contact information should be submitted and be compatible with Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. Winners of the contest will be notified by e-mail. When chosen, an entire artpack for the CD must be created.
Orientation Programs to host call-out meeting\nThe Office of Orientation Programs is looking for students to staff summer orientation sessions. Several student staff positions are available including program assistants, testing room supervisors, orientation leaders, returning orientation leaders and office assistants. The call-out meeting is from 9 to 10 p.m. in the Wilkie Quad Informal Lounge.
