Monroe County judge presents \nlecture\nMonroe County Circuit Judge Viola Jones will speak about her experiences on the bench at the University Club from 1 to 2 p.m. today. Jones, originally from Virginia, has worked at the Tuskegee Institute, has been a social worker, directed a senior citizens' center, taught high school and has been a reading instructor. Hit up a kegger with Dean McKaig\nAll those who have ever hoped to go up to a keg with Dean of Students Richard McKaig and take in some suds will have their wish granted at 8 p.m. tonight in the Wright Quad Formal Lounge. Of course, this keg will be filled with root beer. The keg with Dean McKaig has become an event for the dorm. The dean shares the history of the University and answers any questions students might have about IU or living in a residence hall. Union Board to hold Chainsaw Night\nHalloween might be long past, but that isn't stopping the Union Board's Film committee from showing a rare 35 mm copy of the 1974 gorefest "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Friday in the Whittenberger Auditorium. Also on hand will be Gunnar Hansen, who originally played Leatherface for a lecture and Q&A session. Swing dance to benefit food bank\nThe IU Swing Dance Club is holding a dance to help the Hoosier Hills Food Bank Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight at Alumni Hall. The dance will have a WWII USO theme, and all who come are encouraged to dress in 1940s-era attire. 'Kinsey' to be shown at auditorium\nThe life of IU's famous sex researcher Alfred Kinsey has been turned into a movie, and the director and one of the film's stars are coming to IU to celebrate Saturday. The night begins at 6:30 p.m. with a benefit for the institute to meet actress Laura Linney and writer/director Bill Condon. The movie will be screened at 8 p.m., followed by a Q&A session. Polish Deputy Ambassador to speak on campus\nBoguslaw Winid, the deputy chief of Mission at the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C., will present two lectures sponsored by the Polish Studies Center next week. The first talk, will focus on "Polish-American Relations after NATO and EU Enlargement" at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday in the Dogwood Room of the IMU. The second, scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday in Ballantine Hall Room 004, will discuss "The Plunder of Poland's Art Treasure During the Second World War and the Restitution Efforts." Winid, who has held his ambassador position since 2001, is a historian and political scientist who has written extensively on\nPolish-American relations and NATO.
