Hamer's Hammers

Those crazy rich people

Not too many Americans can argue against the fact that since President George W. Bush has taken office in January of 2001, he has been a big help to the financial elite of America. Whether you're a Bush supporter or not, no one can argue that many of the positions and stands that this administration has taken during the past four years have supported and aided the rich more than anyone else. In fact, I'm sure that you will find very few people in America who are in the top tax bracket who could even imagine a better America if Bush isn't the president.\nHonestly, I don't blame those people for supporting him. If I were to get the kind of money he gave them just for being rich (in the name of helping the economy, of course), I would love the guy, too. But just when I thought that all the rich people love this man, I learned about George Soros.\nThe irony about George Soros being a Bush Basher is that he's not just another millionaire. No, this guy is a billionaire. As in enough money to give everyone in America at least $10. When Bush gave out the tax cuts, more than likely, Soros got a big chunk of it, and you're telling me that now he hates the guy? He hates Bush so much that he has donated millions of dollars to organizations such as www.MoveOn.org, among other things. He has spent more than $2 million just on speaking engagements and ads in swing states. He considers all this money that he's spending on his personal anti-Bush campaign as another wise investment to achieve his goal, which is to get Bush out of office.\nTo his credit, he didn't just all of a sudden begin to hate Bush for some small miniscule reason. He's been against Bush since just after the War in Iraq started, when in his opinion, Bush took advantage of the 9-11 incident to "further his own agenda." Ever since then, Soros has been doing everything he can possibly think of to make sure that after Inauguration Day, Bush will no longer be in the White House.\nThis has to be the most ironic situation during this year's election. This is kind of like me, a broke black kid from some of the roughest streets in America, coming out in support of President Bush because I, for some strange reason, believe that he will do a great job of fixing up the inner-city streets and schools. Or better yet, this is like Bush being endorsed by Louis Farrakhan because he feels Bush is a great leader for the Black community. Or even better yet, this is like R. Kelly supporting stricter laws against sleeping with minors because he feels it's just wrong.\nAny way you look at it, it just doesn't seem right. This guy is supposed to love Bush. Bush and his administration have done nothing but nice, sweet things, not just for this guy, but for every rich person in America. I mean, I can understand John Kerry's rich ass wanting Bush out of office. He wants his job. That's explainable. Soros' discontent is unexplainable. It's not just the fact that he's rich and doesn't like him, but also the fact that he seems to have some sort of compassion and heart for other people around the world. This guy actually feels that it's wrong for someone in great power to disregard others in search of great wealth for one's self or a few.\nI'm just wondering how Bush feels about this. If it goes on for too long, President Bush might just try to take that money back from all those ungrateful rich folks who still don't like him.
