OK, I'll admit it. I'm a huge fan of "The O.C." That's why, when presented with the opportunity to go see a sneak preview of next season's first two episodes, I got excited.\nThen I found out that Victoria's Secret was to thank for sponsoring the event. Needless to say, upon discovering this, I got even more excited.\nI arrived in Woodburn Hall about 35 minutes before the show was supposed to begin. Looking back, that was quite early, but my friends and I really wanted good seats. As we walked in the building, we were more than a little surprised to see such a mass of women (there were three guys there when we arrived -- we counted).\nAfter standing around for entirely too long, we realized that it was well past the time that the doors were expected to open. I kid you not, we heard a woman yell "Riot!" and I was afraid. God only knows what disaster could have ensued if that large crowd of tightly packed women didn't get to see Seth Cohen. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that, had the doors not opened right then, there might not have been a Woodburn Hall today.\nSoon enough we were on our way inside to take our seats. Each person was handed a raffle ticket for the drawing that would take place between the two episodes; girls received two tickets, one for Victoria's Secret prizes and one for "O.C." prizes, while guys just got the "O.C." one (what a rip-off).\nNow, there's something about raffles that makes me nervous. I have this fear that either one of two things will happen: my number gets called and on my excited jog down the aisle to claim my prize, I'll trip and totally bite it, or that I'll misread my ticket and go to claim a prize, which, in actuality, I did not win. Think Zoolander's male model award. Totally awkward, right?\nAnyway, I always thought this fear was completely unfounded. I mean, what are the odds that someone gets all the way down there without realizing the mistake they made? Pretty good, I guess, because that's just what happened.\nTwo numbers were pulled for girls to win "friendship pillows" (don't ask). The only problem is, three girls went down to claim prizes. What did they do? They checked the numbers and sent the one girl on a walk of shame back to her seat (she was even holding the pillow at one point and they took it right out of her arms!) Now, in her defense, she had read the number correctly -- it was just on the "O.C." ticket, not the Victoria's Secret one. \nAnyway, the awkwardness was finished soon enough, as the second episode began. Allow me to suggest to you guys out there that you never watch this or any similar show with a room full of a couple hundred girls. Every time someone kissed there was an audible moan. Every witty line was followed by hysterical laughter (the kind of laughter that is so over the top it makes you uncomfortable).\nReally, I just think that there should never be that many women together in a room watching teenage drama. It will just fill their minds with false hopes about the perfect guy, and I swear you could feel the hormone level in the room rise. \nIt was gross.\nNeedless to say, I escaped the preview relatively unscathed, but let this serve as a warning to all you guys. Think twice about going to any event sponsored by Victoria's Secret, even if your girlfriend tries to drag you. \nThat much estrogen in a room can be toxic. \nTrust me, I know.
